Barratt Developments PLC to increase biodiversity by at least 10% across all of our new developments from January this year

As the country's leading national sustainable housebuilder, we care about the environment and want to help give nature a home on our developments.

This is why we took an industry-leading position to increase biodiversity, known as Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), by at least 10% across all of our new developments from January this year.

This was significantly ahead of government regulation designed to ensure all housebuilders leave the natural environment in a better state than it was beforehand.

As well as minimising our ecological footprint, boosting biodiversity creates healthy places for people and protects the wildlife and the environment on which we all depend.

While the requirement for at least 10% BNG on new sites will not come into force this year, our commitment to building nature-friendly homes and places will not change.
